Job Description Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Core/Higher ST3-5) working on the Core rota in Emergency Medicine at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH). These posts include 80% Emergency Medicine with 20% in a specialist interest. The specialist interests on offer include: Major Trauma Ultrasound Research Management Please indicate within the application which of the above options you would like to cover and why. These posts are available from as soon as possible until 01 August 2023 with the possibility to extend contract by mutual agreement. The Emergency Department (ED) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the biggest in the region seeing over 100,000 patients a year. The hospital is the Trauma Centre for the East of England region covering a wide geographical population and 12 other district hospitals. There is access to all hospital specialties and all investigative facilities including Ultrasound within the ED. There is extended supervision and training with Consultant presence from 08:00-03:00 and 24/7 senior trainee shop-floor presence. The successful applicant will be treated like all other trainees, will be assigned an Educational Supervisor and will be able to attend the monthly departmental teaching program. Experience gained in these posts could be counted in future towards training applications through the CESR-CP pathway. Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required. This post may be suitable for those wishing to undertake an “F3” role. Please note the essential criteria required to undertake this role. The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
